Ideation:
We decided to create a social media campaign because our survey results showed that most people preferred receiving information through social media. We also found 75% of our audience spends more than 3 hours on their phone a day.
We decided that Instagram was the best option as it is a popular choice of our target audience.
We decided to showcase our brand identity through our instagram so there is a clear theme as well as being easily recognisable.
Prototypes:
We started posting static image on our Instagram. Like the app we also used the pink and orange colour scheme. Putting up posts on our Instagram meant that we could see how our brand and theme looked. This helped us to realise that the colour scheme was quite feminine.
Tests:
After realising that the app wasn’t working well with our brand, we changed our colours. This meant that we had to change our instagram posts as well since we wanted to show our brand through this media.
We started testing animation on our Instagram. We first experimented with adding animation to our logo. This was a bit more interesting than static posts and help the eye of the viewer longer.
Design Solution:
After testing out animation on our Instagram, we decided this worked well to hold audience attention but also worked well with our brand and theme.
We decided to use pixel art in our animations to keep to our brand but also show the audience a bit more about our app. We decided to showcase the use of incentives, achievements, and saving money. However did not specifically explain what each post is about. Leaving the viewer wanting more, hopefully downloading the app to find out.
We then decided that we should post our animated posters as well to connect all aspects of the brand.
